Quick, duck!

I forgot all about the Real Housewives of Orange County reunion (Part 1) last night. Didn't watch it, didn't dvr it. I think I completely blocked it out of my mind when I saw that Gretchen and Tamra were going to be kissing each other. (NO, I am not even kidding). It looks like the whole show is online but I can't tell because Bravo's videos are allllllll screwed up today. Can anyone fill me in?
Are you ready for episode 2 of the Real Housewives of New York City tonight? Sadly, I can't tell you what we have to look forward to because of the aforementioned fubar video situation. I just know Andy Cohen is out at lunch instead of fixing this. Oh, and Jill Zarin and Nene Leakes (hope she addresses this) will be on Watch What Happens Live tonight. See you after!
UPDATE: okay, I love Andy again. Red Bulls (with straws) for everyone!

I wish that Andy was a member of every cast and the show solely consisted of him following the ladies around while filming them himself.
I only caught the last 15 minutes last night, which was all about the other ladies telling Gretchen how disgusting Slade is, and Gretchen telling them all that he's the love of her life and she wants to have 4 children with him. And that she now owns all the publishing rights to Jo's music catalog, which was a major WTF moment for everyone.
I watched it but I don't have the gift of turning it into a more interesting recap.
The first 15-20 minutes were all about Tamraahhhh/Simon. There was a lot of eyerolling directed at Lynne's mothering skills or lack thereof. The "ladies" were mostly calm and civil. Then Miss Vicki started getting all flustered and flitty like always.
I was impressed by the way Gretchen and Alexis both calmly handled themselves throughout. I KNOW! Sorry.
Lynne's face looks like it has settled a bit. A tad better in the scary eyebrow department. Alexis looked exactly like the cartoons that Pretty On the Outside draws of her. Wow.
Looks like they're saving the catfight stuff for Part 2 when the househusbands join them.
I totally blocked it out too! I hope my DVR was good to me and taped it....
my vagina could tell you what's about to go down on RHONY tonight. it's quivering with excitement.
i know that bethenney blasts kelly for being a fucking r'tard. "then go to beeeeeeeeeeeeeed!!!" she says.
One thing I like about the reunion shows is that they look a little more normal, a little less airbrushed. Not that their looking worse makes me feel better or anything.
There was quite a bit about Lynne and her parenting skills, or lack thereof...but did anyone else catch the bit with Gretchen when she was saying that the reason she intervened with the youngest Lynn daughter (Alexa??) was because she had a degree in psychology and family studies and then not 2 minutes later she said her degree was in sociology and women's studies? WTF? Sorry--these are TOTALLY two different disciplines (and as if a BA in psych makes you some sort of counselor).
B, I thought I caught Gretchen saying the same thing and thought, "BUSTED!" but then I realized that the second time (sociology/women's studies) she was referring to the Teen Whisperer's credentials. Crisis averted. hee
Why is Orange County cut off from the rest of the world, when it comes to fashion? On the reunion show they were all wearing what appeared to be cocktail dresses from 1985. The kind of clothes a Palm Springs thrift store would try to sell--ironically ("Isn't this '80s dress a hoot? $15 as is; some wine stains.")
I am not a Gretchen/Slade fan, frankly I don't care either way about them, but Gretchen handled the whole thing beautifully. She said that she knows that they are worried about her getting hurt, and she may get hurt, but it is her life, and she is happy. Then she pointed at Tamra and said something like - you didn't think you would end up this way, but you did.
Okay, I know you haven't done a recap of the 2nd part reunion but I just have to say how annoying it was. Alexis and Jim are so hateful. She sits there with her holier-than-thou expression on her face, glaring through slit eyes at anyone who says something she doesn't like. I personally don't think she was grilled enough on her hypocracy about always being with her kids, needing time away from them yet she's always on trips with her husband and has a nannys. And also about her comment about how God, her husband, her marriage, her house, her car, her makeup (just kidding!) comes before her kids. That's insane, nothing and nobody should come before your kids. And Jim in his greasy looking black suit and purple shirt looked like a pompous peacock. Both of them sitting in judgement of everyone, just by the looks on their faces. I hate the way they bring God into all of this and they are such hypocrites, we all saw the pictures and the "gossip" about Alexis' past, don't judge others on their behavior. I can hear Kelly Bensimmon "Don't throw houses at glass people because they have rocks!"
Slade "Slimy" or whatever his name is was so disgusting and I cheered when Andy caught him in a lie, the look on Gretchen's face was priceless. Slimy was able to hide it better because he's used to scaming people. I hated that they gave him exactly what he's been wanting, a seat right next to Andy.
I don't think anyone was right or wrong, they're all crazy and delusional but I did feel one bit of sadness when towards the end they were all ganging up on Vicky and she looks at Donn and says "help me". I'm not saying that Vicky is a saint, she can be hateful at times but maybe it's the way she said it and that Donn did try by reminding everyone how they were bashed when they left Lynne's party. And I think Alexis and her pet peacock need to get a sense of humor about Donn and Vicky falling asleep at the story of how they met. I would have been rolling my eyes and looking at my watch if I had to listen to Alexis talk about what she wore and her hairstyle and crap. I'm sure God fell asleep too Alexis!
I'm not able to watch the 2nd half until tonight. I do want to say though, that the people I know who believe in God--> marriage--> kids don't mean that their kids are second-class citizens or lower on the priority list. What they mean is that:
#1 God - faith and focus on God keeps the right things in perspective -- focusing on important things like marriage/family/friends over work, material things, etc.
#2 Marriage - keeping your marriage strong keeps the family strong and provides a safe environment and good example for your kids
#3 Children - best thing for them is to see parents who have values based on God's principles resulting in an intact, healthy family
None of my friends who live this way have nannies and unlimited workout time and vacations. :D They are in there doing the hard and rewarding work every day.
First of all, SGM...I love you, your recaps, this community, the comments...you all crack me up. I find myself checking the site several times a day to make sure I haven't missed a thing! Y'all make me happy.
I'm usually pretty witty, but wanted to be serious for a moment to address Alexis and Jim. I too am a devout Christian and until a recent move...attented a church much like Alexis'. Cindy summed up so well how and why I place God and my marriage above my children.
THAT SAID...I CRINGE...just CRINGE...with every word spoken by Alexis and Jim. The condemnation. The judmentalness (if that is a word). I've not been a fan of Vicki until this year, but I recognize that she is trying. I have compassion and grace for that.
Alexis and Jim are smarmy, smug, and above all self-righteous. I feel they paint a poor picture for those of us that are Jesus lovers...and frankly it sickens me!! And yes, Jim is controlling...sickeningly so...
I just have to believe that they will look back on this one day and think...'What the hell were we thinking?'
Sorry for the long post. Just felt the need to apologize on behalf of Christians.
Cindy and Jo, thank you for explaining it so well, it makes sense. Please don't think I have a problem with Christians I just have a problem with people like Alexis and Jim who seem to be hypoctrites. I tend to think of it the opposite way, my children are the most important things in my life so I'm going to make sure my marriage is happy and my husband and I are strong together. Everything else comes after that. I totally understand that we all have different views and I respect that. I don't want to make this into a religion debate, It's more fun to make fun of their "80's prom dresses"! ;)
Yea Kitcat! Excellent point on marriage priorities. I also have no desire to debate religion. This is my place to escape and laugh, be a bit snarky and scratch my head in wonder. I was just really struggling with Jim and Alexis and I'm a fellow Christian. Didn't want everyone thinkin we're all like that!
Okay, completely agree on the dresses, Slade IS a slimeball and are there words to describe Jim? Greasy, grimy goopher guts!!!
Amen sisters! tee hee
Can't wait to watch Part 2 tonight on my beloved DVR! xo
What's with Lynn in that blowing kisses picture posted above. She's the smallest one in the group, but she looks awful in the picture! Is it the angle, the dress... bloat?
And next year, I want Alexis and Jim to be seated in thrones.
